GM Design in Warren laid-off all but about 10 of the contract sculptors. Unfortunetly I was one of them. It seems that to me that recent trends in the studio there was to do more of the work on the tube before it reached the floor. I can understand there reasoning. But it puts a pinch on those who work on the floor. More and more they look for canidates that can do alias/tube work and work with the clay. I think the days of the die hard clay guy are gone. There was almost something magical about watching one of these "old timers' work.

Randy,

The more tools available the better for everyone, then you get to choose who you want to buy from in the price range that you can afford

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the comments. I took the webpage offline for a while, but I still make tools. People can just email me with what they want and I would be happy to work something out with them. Lately I have had a lot of people email me and ask for custom tools. One person in California had some tools he had on loan from a friend and I was able to reproduce them from some photos he sent me.

Thanks again for your blog and clay application site.

Cheers

Myra,

Take a look at the clay suppliers websites such as Chavant, Kolb and Eberhard Faber under their industrial products. This will give you an idea as to what you can use the clay for. This medium is used primarily for design purposes with the end product being cast off to produce a more durable item.
